Fixing My Windows XP Problems
Open Office Logo
I come by your web site whilst searching for how to upgrade my brothers Windows XP computer to Service Pack 3.
He was having issues with Malware and when we looked in to it we found his computer wasn't on the latest Service Pack.
We found your Download Windows XP SP2 page which filled in some gaps in my knowledge and helped me prepare to install SP3.
I printed out your Windows XP SP3 Download page and followed it step by step. I managed to install Service Pack 3 successfully.
You were right about the time it takes to download and apply the updates that were released since Service Pack 3. It took me over an hour to apply them all!
Thank you for your step by step guidance pages. I don't think I could have managed this with out them.
My brother thinks I am a computer wizard and doesn't realise yet, as you say Steve, just how easy it is to do once you know how.
I haven't been using computer for that long. I vaguely recall Windows 95, but do remember Windows 2000 and of course Windows XP growing up.
I have used an Apple Mac in some classes at school and I have seen Linux Ubuntu but to be honest, I found using both of them quite difficult. I suppose I am just used to Microsoft Windows.
I can't believe there used to be 10MB hard drives! My USB Pen has much more space than that!
I have a Packard-Bell Windows 7 Home Edition computer with a 20" Wide-Screen monitor.
It is great for playing games on (I like adventure and strategy games) but unfortunately I also use it for school work.
I have Open Office installed at home, but at School we Use Microsoft Office. I'm OK using both now but I do get confused from time to time as they look at little different.
My computer is almost 4 years old now and some of my games stick whilst playing them. I have read about upgrading the memory in my computer but I'm unsure how to to do this at the moment. I'm not even sure how much memory is in it either.
I have an Apple iPhone which is great for helping me keep in touch with my friends by text, Facebook etc.
I would love an iPad, but they are far too expensive for me. I also own an XBOX but hardly use it these days.
