The eComputerZ Free Internet Speed Test Tool

The free, fast and accurate Internet Speed Test provides you with a wealth of information about your online connection speed and performance. It is also a secure way to perform tests on your Internet connection. Is the detail provided after you click start test what you expected when the test completes? Enjoy and please share.

The Free, Fast, Accurate Internet Speed Test Tool

Measures latency, jitter, download and upload. Uses Cloudflare’s global edge; if uploads are blocked by your network, falls back to a secure WebSocket echo.

What your results mean (and what to do next)

Quick interpretation

Use case
Good download
Good upload
Latency / jitter tips
Video calls
≥ 10 Mbps
≥ 5 Mbps (HD); ≥ 10 Mbps (group)
Lower is better; jitter matters more than raw speed.
Gaming
≥ 10 Mbps
≥ 3 Mbps
Aim for latency ≤ 40ms and jitter ≤ 15ms.
4K streaming
≥ 25 Mbps
Stability prevents buffering more than peaks do.
Work from home
≥ 25 Mbps
≥ 10 Mbps
If jitter spikes, try 5GHz/Wi-Fi positioning or Ethernet.

Tip: if results vary a lot, use Run 3 tests and trust the median.

Try this next (fast fixes)

  • Pause large downloads/uploads (cloud sync, game updates, streaming).
  • If on Wi-Fi: move closer to the router, switch to 5GHz, or use Ethernet.
  • Turn off VPN/proxy (they often increase latency and jitter).
  • Restart router (30 seconds power off), then re-test.
  • Test at a different time (peak hours can cause congestion).

Accuracy & stability

One run can be a fluke. Running 3 tests helps you spot congestion and Wi-Fi variability. This tool shows a Stability rating based on how much your results vary.

Best practice: run 3 tests, then use the median download/upload and check if latency/jitter stay consistent.

Privacy & accuracy
  • No login or personal data collected. IP/ISP/location are shown locally in your browser.
  • Traffic is sent only to Cloudflare (download/upload) and the selected WebSocket echo endpoint if needed.
  • Wi-Fi, VPNs/proxies, and background downloads can reduce accuracy. For best results, use wired or strong Wi-Fi and pause large transfers.
