How does this work?

We hash your password locally using SHA-1, send only the first 5 characters of the hash to a breach database, and compare the returned list to finish the check in your browser.

  • Your password never leaves your device.
  • Only the first 5 hash characters are sent (k-anonymity).
  • No tracking, no storage.
