  1. Passwords first. Try Password Breach Checker. If anything shows up, make a long passphrase and switch on 2FA.
  2. Connection check. Use the Internet Speed Test, then convert your result to real transfer times with the Download/Upload Time Estimator. Next, run the Wi-Fi Troubleshooter and the Ping and Jitter Test to check stability.

Frequently asked questions

Are these tools free?
Yes — free to use, no sign-up, no selling your data.
Do you store my passwords or files?
No. Many tools run locally in your browser. Any tool that calls a trusted external service explains exactly what’s sent and why.
Do these tools work on phones and tablets?
Most do. Some tools work best on a larger screen (for example, full-screen display tests), but you can still use the majority on mobile.
What data leaves my device when I use a tool?
By default, tools are designed to run locally. If a tool needs to call an external service (for example, a security lookup), we explain what’s sent, what isn’t, and what you should expect to see.
Can I use these at work or on a locked-down device?
Usually yes — most tools run in the browser with no installs. If your organisation blocks uploads or certain sites, try a different browser, a personal device, or use the Support Report tool to capture details for IT.
Why does my internet speed differ from what my provider advertises?
Real-world results vary due to Wi-Fi signal, network congestion, router limits, device performance, and the test server location. Use the Speed Test alongside Ping/Jitter and the Wi-Fi Troubleshooter to pinpoint where the bottleneck is.
Will these tools fix the problem, or just diagnose it?
Many tools do both. Some measure or confirm what’s happening (diagnosis), then point you to the safest next steps. Where a tool can’t directly fix something, it helps you gather the right evidence to fix it faster.
Accessibility: can I use these with keyboard-only or reduced motion?
Yes — the layout is designed to be readable and keyboard-friendly, and the hover effects respect reduced-motion preferences.
How often are the numbers updated?
Where a tool shows “live” stats, those refresh on a regular schedule and we show dates/sources where appropriate. Tool behaviour and guidance are reviewed as platforms and threats change.
How do I report a bug or suggest a tool?
Use our contact page. We read every message.
