Remove Location Data from Photos

Before you post a photo online, it’s worth knowing that many images quietly carry extra “hidden” data — like GPS coordinates, the device model, and app/edit history. Remove Location Data From Photos is a free Photo Privacy Cleaner that strips common metadata (including EXIF and XMP) from JPG/JPEG, PNG and WEBP files right in your browser, so you can download a cleaner copy and share with more confidence.

Theme: protect your privacy. Action: add photos, clean metadata, download safe versions. Outcome: reduce the chance of accidentally revealing where you live, where a photo was taken, or what device you used.

Remove Location Data from Photos

Strip hidden location, camera and comment data from your photos before you share them. Your images are processed locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded to eComputerZ.

Theme: Protect your privacy when sharing photos.   Action: Add photos → clean them → download safe copies.   Outcome: Fewer accidental location/camera leaks online.
🔒 Local processing

1) Add your photos

Drag & drop here, or choose files. Supported: JPG/JPEG, PNG, WEBP.

Uses the selected option in Step 2 (optional).
No files added yet.

Tip: Some social apps strip some metadata, but not all services do. If you want control, clean first.

2) Optional settings (recommended defaults are already selected)

If you don’t change anything here, the tool uses the recommended option below and you can simply click Clean metadata.

Removes common metadata blocks without re-encoding where possible. Best for JPG/JPEG.
Creates a fresh “clean” image via the browser canvas. Can be slower on older laptops.
More aggressive removal (e.g., JPEG comment blocks and extra editor/app markers).
What is EXIF? Camera/phone metadata (model, date/time, sometimes GPS).
What is XMP? Metadata often added by editing apps (editing history, descriptions, tags).

After cleaning, you may see chips like “EXIF removed” or “XMP removed” — meaning those metadata blocks were detected and removed.
Important: This removes hidden data inside the file. It won’t remove what’s visibly in the picture.
Location (EXIF GPS): coordinates and related tags (when present).
Device info: camera/phone model and capture settings (when present).
History: dates, editor/app strings, comments/notes (when present).
